These turquoise stones, also known as Aventurine are a form of quartz characterised by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence. We carry this stone in a multitude of different forms from columns, drilled gurglers, gravel, ledgestone, tumbled, and veeners.
Here at Hillside we call the Aventurine gravel “Crushed Green Ice” and we carry it in two sizes: 3/4” and 1 1/2”. The green colour really brightens up when the rock is wet. This is sold by the 40 lb bag, or is also available in super sacks, which is how it is shipped to us. They are sold by the pound and average between 3000-3500 lbs which is approximately 1.5-1.75 yards.

We carry two different colours of Lava Rock: Red & Black. Since the Lava Rock is a popular choice, we carry both Red & Black in bulk quantities. We carry the Black Lava in 1/2” and the Red Lava in 1” and 2”. It can be purchased in yard, half-yard and garbage can size quantities as well as bagged for your convenience.
Rainbow Rock is a beautiful decorative rock that will add colour and dimension to any project. We carry Rainbow Rock in a large variety of sizes including: 1/4”, 3/8”, 3/4”, & 1 1/2” in both round and crushed, as well as a 3-6” River Rock which is great for water features or stream beds because the colour is really brought to life when wet. We carry it in both 40 lb bags as well as large super sacks which average between 3200-3600 lbs. (approx 1.5 yards – 1.75 yards)

This crushed decorative gravel comes in a 1” size only and is available in 40lb bags as well as large super sacks which average 3000 lbs (approximately 1.5 yards).
Our decorative stones come in 40lb bags. Grey Ice is a nice decorative option in comparison to just a general gravel; however, it is still a very cost-effective approach. Grey Ice is a decorative limestone gravel.
