3/8 Crushed rock; great for pathways or used to dry lay flagstone or stepping stones.  This material compacts down and doesn't shift when walked on

Composted Steer Manure

Drain Rock

Available in ¾ inch or 1.5 inch round rock used as drainage rock or ground cover in gardens.

Dry Stack Wallstone

Attractive, easy to lay, permanent solution for slope retaining walls or other areas where a mortar less, dirt back filled wall is desirable.  Visualize our Ledge stone laid with no mortar joints and this is the overall effect you get.  The stones have flat, parallel surfaces top and bottom and range in thickness from approx 2 inch to 12 inch,  width from 8 inch to 16 inch.  By carefully backfilling behind each course of stone as the wall goes up and giving it a very light batter of slope it will stand forever.

Fish Compost

Flagstone

Any flat, paving type stone is referred to as Flagstone.

Garden Soil

HILLSIDE STONE & GARDEN Garden Soil is blended on site and is a blend of rich black peat, composted steer manure and washed sand.  This blend is a “ready to grow” soil, with a peat base insuring moisture retention.  With the composted steer manure component as a fertilizer; this is a cold manure, slow release soil ensuring constant growth.  Bring your ideas to this soil and watch them grow!

Lapidary

Stone work -  A lapidary (the word means "concerned with stones") is an artist or artisan who forms stone, mineral, gemstones, and other suitably durable materials (amber, shell, jet, pearl, copal, coral, hornand bone, glass and other synthetics) into decorative items such as engraved gems, including cameos, or cabochons, and faceted designs.  From Wikipedia, November2009

Limestone

A ¾ Crush Grey Ice, Available in 40lb bags or in Bulk.  Used for everything from ground cover to pathways, however not suitable for ponds because of it’s alkaline property.

Mulch

Most mulches are fir bark, ground up into chips or pieces.  Available in fine, medium or coarse grade. Used for moisture retention and weed suppression.

Quartzite

Quartzite (from German Quarzit) is a hard metamorphic rock which was originally sandstone. Sandstone is converted into quartzite through heating and pressure usually related to tectonic compression within orogenic belts. Pure quartzite is usually white to grey, though quartzites often occur in various shades of pink and red due to varying amounts of iron oxide (Fe2O3). Rocky Mountain Quartzite

River Rock  

Round, sometimes irregular shaped rock, available in 6 inch minus or 6 inch plus. Available in both Grey Tones or a Rainbow Mix.  Great for stone walls or replacing stream beds.

RMQ Heirloom Boulders

Mostly weathered and lichen covered, these pieces are carefully selected for outstanding character and colour.  Truly heirloom stones.

RMQ Landscape Boulders

Each piece is selected for unusual colour and texture.  Pieces range from smooth, clean quarried surfaces and some weathered surfaces with a patina of lichen growth.  Colour ranges from gold-rust , off-white through silver-gray and weathered gray and tend to be blocky to rectangular with many large, flat slabs available.

RMQ Select Slabs

Rectangular shapes for benches, table bridges, stair treads, driving stones.  Smooth top and bottom with smooth natural cleft edges typical of our Ledge Stone.  Thickness ranges approx 4 inch to 8 inch, lengths 4 feet to 6 feet.

RMQ Stepping Stones

The shape of these stones is random, like flagstone, and average size range in from minimum of 12 inch by 12 inch to 18 inch to 18 inch with a few pieces being larger.  1.5 to 3 inches is perfect for sand beds.  Lots of natural straight edges make these stone easy to work with and ideal for narrow garden paths of other application requiring straight edges.  Theses stones will endure a lifetime.

Ryolite

Is a light rose-purple coloured igneous rock with black or dark banding.  Great for water features or accent rock.  Can be polished for jewellery.

Stone Base

Available in ¾ inch, this product is a ¾ crush with crusher fines. Will pack down great. Ideal for Driveways or Pathways.

Super Compost

HILLSIDE STONE & GARDEN Super Compost Is a straight yard and garden compost. With it's superior blend of both high nitrogen and weed free product it ensures great fertilization.  Turning old depleted or heavy clay soil into rich organic high producing soil.  This Compost is also great for top dressing or mulching flower or garden beds.   

Super Soil -     Lawn Mix

HILLSIDE STONE & GARDEN SuperSoil is blended on site.  It is a compost base soil with washed sand (weed free).  SuperSoil is a high nutrient soil.  It is great for rejuvenating and top dressing lawns, and is ideal for heavy feeding plants such as roses and annuals. SuperSoil also produces rich green lawns in a short period of time.  Bring your ideas to SuperSoil and watch them grow!

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is an excellent heart-healing gemstone. It is a nature remedy that can used for treating any issue that needs emotional healing. It is a pink-coloured crystal that carries a very gentle and soothing energy and gives comfort to anyone whoe heart has been wounded.

Veneer   

Stone used to cover existing structure.  Can be as thin as 3/8 inch or as thick as 3 inches.

Wallstone

Square or rectangular rock with flat consistency for building rock walls.
